ATOS appointment cancelled

OH was due to attend medical assessment this afternoon and we were all psyched up for it and just wanted to get it over and done with.
Got a phone call this morning saying they were sorry but had to cancel it and will rearrange another one quite soon. Seems they had too many people to [STRIKE]assess[/STRIKE] interrogate this afternoon.
Mind games perhaps?
So we now have to go through the waiting process again:mad:

Don't over think it, they really are way too busy to be cancelling appts to pysche you out."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

My friend's seriously mentally ill daughter had her assessment cancelled twice - but only once she had turned up at the centre to be turned away. The first time was because the computerised assessment program had been down for three days. When asked why they hadn't phoned and cancelled, they said they were not allowed to (the cynic in me suspects that's because 'no shows' automatically lose their benefits).I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

It does happen. Mine got cancelled twice last year. 3rd time lucky and I passed. They will send another one out to you in due course. Probably in approx. 3-4 weeks time.0

I know they are probably very busy, but it was just a bit of a let down - not that I find these medical assessments at all nice, just wanted to get it over with.
I had already had to change the original appointment because I have to get time off work to go with OH and so this afternoon was ideal.
I explained to the receptionist about the work thing and she said she will ask them to try and arrange it for a similar day and time, but of course can't guarantee anything as ATOS make the appointments, not the individual centres.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

Well I suppose we were lucky then in that they contacted us beforehand. I would have been very upset if we had actually gone there and then been turned away.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0
