Bank charge defaults

Hi, please bear with me I'm new!
I'm trying to sort out the defaults on my credit rating, 2 of which are for bank charges, one with Santander and 1 with nationwide, both were current accounts with no overdraft facility, both accounts went massively over drawn because of bounced dds and unauthorised overdraft charges. At the time I would have qualified for refund due to to financial hardship, but now I don't!
After speaking to experian today (nationwide have sold my debt on and I now have a double default) I have been advised to request both defaults be removed via the complaints proceedure and failing that the ico.
So basically I'm after a bit of advise as to what to write in my letters.........

Why do you think (or why did experian advise) you should have the defaults removed when they accurately reflect the manner in which you handled the accounts?

Tbh I'm not sure really the experian guy thought they were loans, there is a query on the default date on nationwide, and he asked if I knew the actual loan default date to which I told him they were all charges for being in an unauthorised overdraft he said they were excessive charges £774 and £586 to go on the grounds of unreasonable when in financial hardship I just figured it was worth a go :-)
