How do I claim PPI on something I don't have details on?

A patient of mine told me she got the PPI company details from this website.
I know I was guarantour for an ex and ending up paying for his camera, it was in the 90's though!
I think I go a loan for it from my bank the NatWest who I have been with for over 30 years. It took me two years to pay back.
How do I find out about PPI on other loans as I don't have any of the paperwork now.
My patient seemed to think I can still do this.
I am really skint, so could do with some help!

Sometimes Natwest will be able to tell you over the phone. Call the PPI helpline (0800 015 0319) and ask.

Alternatively if you would like to see all the details they hold on you including other accounts you may have forgotten about, you will need to send a Subject Access Request (SAR) to Natwest asking for all details that they hold on you.

It's possible that Natwest will come back to you stating that they only hold six years worth of data. However, RBS/Natwest hold data on accounts going back to at least 1992 (sometimes earlier) in the 'Natwest Archive'.

Do you still bank with them? Normally in the 1990s you wouldn't have been given the loan account numbers, so your current account details should be enough for them to use to search.

Ive requested a SAR from rbos. Spoke to them today and the found my closed acc from 1994 and confirmed they can produce statements. I did have the acc number thou.

Rbos seem to be on the ball and very pleasant as well

The PPI would not have covered you on this so you cannot put a claim in.

Yes, but it's still possible the OP's other loans are of the more traditional variety maybe worth the £10 SAR.

Having thought about it more now, I think that as a guarantour, I had to get a loan from my then and still current bank to pay for the camera.
