On line car insurance quotes

Would like some advice on using on-line car insurance sites. Both my husband and I have had one accident in the last two years but as named driver on each others policy. ie I had accident whilst driving his car as named driver and vice versa.
When completing online form who declares what accident ie me who is making the claim as it is my insurance or husband as he was driving.
This is becoming very confusing as when I have received my renewal from lloyds I have both listed against me. When I said I wasn't the driver in one they said it didn't matter as my policy. When I asked about other they said that was because I was driving although not my policy.
So if we both have to declare both _the quotes are going through the roof as it looks like we have had 4 accidents not 2. Help!

On your policy you have had one claim ( his) but personally didn't have an accident.
On his policy he had one claim but you had the accident.
I think you have possibly clicked the wrong options.0 -
Generally....
If you quote for just one of you on any vehicle, you both need to declare the claims as your own.
If you get a quote for both of you on the same policy you just declare the incidents once adding them as per the driver at the time of the incident.
Always sensible to check with the insurer/ broker in question BEFORE buying to ensure they want things noted in the normal way.0 -

Do you mean that if my wife as named driver had an accident, I only need to add it to the quote under her name (i.e. and not under both our names?)0 -
Depends on the company. So double check before taking out the policy.
Declare the accident under her name as the named driver. But if you remove her then you need to list it as a claim on your policy.
Double check before buying a policy....Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
