ESA CB ending and confusion

Hi,
I have just had a letter this morning saying that my CB ESA will be stopped on the 28th May (bit late, eh?!)
What I'm confused about is whether I can reapply, I think I may have been in the WRAG because I attended two interviews last year but at the end of the second one I was told I wouldn't need to come in for any more, so does this mean I should probably be in the support group?
I don't think I will qualify for IR ESA as I live with a relative who works full time and will be over the pay threshold, I currently pay £50 p/w board towards utilities etc and also buy quite a bit of my own food drink.
The strange thing is that I was sent an ESA50 to be completed by the end of May, and then this morning I get this letter saying ESA will cease, so I'm not sure what is going on.
Any help would be great, thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. (my bolding)
If you live with a partner then their income/savings would be taken into account as regards being eligible for income based ESA.
If you live with any other relative, as far as I am aware, their income/savings would not be taken into account and if you do not have any other income and savings less than £6000 then you would qualify for income based ESA.
Perhaps you could clarify your living arrangements.:)0 -
Sounds as if you've been placed into the WRAG (Work related Activity Group) . Do you know how long you've been placed in the WRAG for? Just because you stop getting paid after a year doesn't mean your time in the WRAG has stopped.
Check out how long you were placed in the WRAG for.
If you think your condition has deteriorated and think you are now eligible for the Support Group you can ask for a Supersession and ask to be reassessed BUT you can only do this if you have an active ESA claim.0 -
Hi thanks for the quick replies.
I'm afraid I'm not that clued up on it all because I found it all very confusing when I first claimed. Basically I was transferred from IB to ESA like everyone else was, I then filled in another ESA50 and attended a medical, at the time I wasn't aware, or didn't understand, that there was two groups (being the WRAG or support) but my letter came through to say that I was to be on ESA so presumably that meant I was/am in the WRAG as I had to attend two brief interviews at the job centre.
Last year I filled in another ESA50 but didn't get requested to attend a medical and my ESA just continued as normal.
This year at the beginning of May I had another ESA50 sent to me to be completed by the end of May, which I did, but this morning the I got the letter saying my CB ESA will cease on the 28th May.
My living arrangements are that I live with my Mum, after I became ill I lost my job and subsequently my house and savings so I had to move back in with my mum. As I say I currently pay £50 p/w baord voluntarily, my only income is my ESA, nothing else. I can't find anything relating to IR ESA for my living arrangements as most of it all relates to partners income, but I have seen a reference to household income, in which case I wouldn't qualify.
I need some clarification as to where I stand, according to the ESA support group indicators I qualify on a couple of the cognitive sections for the support group, but I do not know where to proceed from here.
Thanks again.0 -
Your Mum's income/savings should not affect your eligibility for income based ESA. You should telephone and ask to be considered for income based ESA.0

Many thanks, this is a big help. I shall get on the phone immediately, fingers crossed. This letter was a massive mental blow this morning and I've been in a right state all day.0 -
It also sounds as if you are undergoing another reassessment so it is possible that you will be put into the Support Group this time round.0

You can get an ESA3 form from your local jobcentre and return it to the address on that letter. This will save you time.
You should have been sent 2 letters informing you of this ending 1 month prior and 2 months prior, but they hardly ever get sent out.
It will take a week to arrive by post (when you send it in) and a further 1 - 2 weeks to process the ESA3
You were placed in WRAG for 1 year, that's why you are being re-assesed
On ESA IR you will get £100.15 per week.
If this is lower than you get at the moment that's because your TA will end.
The only way for your current £rate to continue would be to appeal the decision 1 year ago that put you into WRAG... appeal for SG giving reasons why your appeal is 11 months late. If you return your appeal 13 months after the decision you will be too late to appeal.
If you don't mind getting £100.15 from now on then you can wait for your new WCA decision and appeal that for SG to get ~ £121 per week.
The reason you got an ESA50 is because if you do nothing your claim remains open for NI credits and you need ESA50 for that to continue.0 -
ESA3 arrived, wow, this is one epic form/tome to fill in.0
