Distance learning Foundation Degree?

Hi all,

I'm really keen to apply for a foundation degree which is distance learning - nowhere near me offers the course, but colleagues have done the course and say it's good. They got funded because they were managers, but I am going to have to pay myself.

Can anyone advise me if there is ANY funding available from Student Loans or SAAS for distance learning Foundation Degrees? I can't get a career development loan nor can I afford it any other way.

I'm not yet sure which loan company I'd be going through; I am English and spent a year at uni in England under SLC but have lived in Scotland 2 years and am married to a Scot so don't know if it would then mean I go through SAAS.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

you should be able to receive a student loan to pay the fees for a distance learning foundation degree with a public institution like the Open UNiversity. What subjectdo you want to study?

It's not the OU in this case, it's a university where you are required to attend a few times a year for a couple of days at a time.
The course is vocational but specific to my industry and could help me to climb the ladder

Is it a publicly funded institution or private?

To be honest, I don't know. I'll need to check that out and get back to you. :)

It might be simpler just to say which university and what course.:)
