cheapest train to prestatyn!

I am looking to trave on the 16th July, come back on the 20th July, from Leicester, a family railcard isn,t much good to us, don't travel enough! One adult and one child, any tips please?:p

    Have a look on www.thetrainline.com also try putting in single journeys as sometimes it works out cheaper, you can usually get £7 single journeys.

    Also have a look at National Express as you can get some £1 journeys www.nationalexpress.com http://www.nationalexpress.com/save/funfares.cfm

    Leicester to Prestatyn is an horrendous route, 3 changes at least, so ideal for "splitting" into sections. The cheapest "through" ticket I can find is £66:30 for you both, without a railcard or £37:60 with a family card, so it would be worth spending £20 on one, as you will save £8 and have the card for a year.

    I have found a route with only 2 changes, think if I'd have known all this before I booked..........................:p this one isn't too bad, as you change at nuneation instead of Bham New St!! As for the £66 charge online I've seen this, but last year, when I was looking for train costs, with Virgin, online was quoted £88-ish, when I rang Virgin, got it for half that price!!
