    Hi Weekend-People,
Not much specifically MS activity today, except gardening, which is of course, money-saving when you think that it's our future food supplies. So in the spirit of doing that, I have:
*Backfilled the bean trench over all the kitchen scraps I filled it with & planted out runner beans.
*Checked all veggies for pests/problems. Protected a few more crops with old IKEA curtains as there's a lot of criminal pecking going on by sparrows.
*mr f dug over the leek bed.......oh than k you, thank you, I didn't want to do that, the soil was like concrete....can now get the leeks in next week, hurray!
*Had a 'use up what's in the fridge' lunch.
*Didn't spend any money as was so busy in the garden so that was good.
Re all the take-aways.....we used to have so many. Partly it's the dieting that's put a stop to it, but also the expense. We have several recipes that we cook when we need a 'fake-away'. These seem to hit the spot on most occasions, even with mr f, who can eat his bodyweight in takeaway. We do still very occasionally buy a takeaway but not every week like the bad old days.....actually, not even once every 2 months these days.
    That's me,

But your total is still coming down?? I am just being competative because we were both around £5.5 a little while ago. Im also being competative with Perni because shes in the same ball park. I need my debt busting homies :))

To be fair, I earn a fair amount of money and since clearing off a few and switching to a 0% it's made it a lot easier! I'm going to change my sig now to reflect how my balance is made up :D

Is there no way of wacking that Barclaycard onto the 0% HBOS too? Although is now pretty low in any case.

Sorry to be so blooming nosey btw :)

All my personal debt listed is from starting up the business. I did have funds but it didnt entirely stretch. I have days were I 'justify' my debt by telling myself its all in a good cause, but in reality, if the business goes down, and how many start ups do? I would walk away with nothing but personal debt. Hence my haste to pay it all down.

Barclaycard will be gone at the end of June (hopefully!) truthfully I could pay it off now from my budget account but then I'd have to use it again if anything came up that I'd normally use that money for - does that make sense?

I don't see it as being nosy, just interested! What is your business by the way? I'm sure you've said but I've missed it :-)

Good luck with the barclaycard pay off, I kind of feel a bit like that with the emergency fund Im trying to save up. I could almost pay off CC2 in around another 2 months, but again as you say, its kind of pointless if you have to wack the plastic again.

Well, its a food business & I think I'll leave it at that, just in case anyone is starting to add two and two together (people I know IRL) not that anything I say on here is in any way majorly embarassing, or wrong, but I'd rather keep my financials to myself from the 'real' people if you know what I mean?:o the bottom line is, its been a huge personal risk. Have gone from having a well established 10 year career at almost director level to earning less than min wage working stupid hours! But I really believe in what Im doing and believe in the long run it will give my family the work/life balance we all want. Just wont be for a while. And in the meantime, coffee is my friend :)

    Hi all

My OH printed out a 5p per litre reduction voucher for use at Shell stations, which saved me 75p for next week's petrol for work.

Better in my pocket :)...it all helps.
