Buy to let mortgages in Ireland

Hi we're buying a property in Ireland (Republic) to let out and we live in the UK. Due to the property market problems in Ireland, most lenders don't provide mortgages if you're not an Irish resident. Mortgage intermediaries seem to be going out of business daily and are very expensive.
We could buy the property through equity release on our own home but have been advised that we then can't claim any interest paid as an expense.
Does anyone know any good Irish mortgage brokers or can you offer any advice?
