I am seeking a residential conveyancer for the sale of my house. The Estate Agents who have sold my property is Haart and they have recommended I use their legal services.
Has anyone used Haart Legal or Haart Spicer? Would you recommend them?
I am in East London.

I wouldn't go near anything haart with a barge pole. But then again I don't like EAs and I dislike a certain couple of firms more than others.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I wouldn't touch Haart with a bargepole either. They are slick and hard sell but don't deliver when it comes down to it. In my case they it was a miracle that our chain didn't break, and the problems were all down to Haart. They kept saying everything was OK and we were going to exchange when this wasn't the case. They didn't know everything was in place, they just hoped it was.
I have no time for organisations with the ethos of Haart. The local EA's all hate them as they pro-actively try and pinch their business, pestering vendors to switch to Haart either on the phone and in my case, knocking on the door as well. And they're not cheap either.
You would do better to go with a good local firm where you can drop off or sign documents in a hurry if need be. Get some personal recommendations. For our second house purchase we used a conveyancing firm recommended by the Union - and that all went smoothly too.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I have just had an offer accepted on a flat through Haarts - East London.
So far not too impressed with the service they are offering me - keep having to ring them for follow ups. Before I made the offer they were getting back really quickly if I had a query.
They also tried to push me towards their in-house legal service. The quote they gave was the most expensive of the lot I have had - and I rang quite a few locals as well as requesting online quotes.
In the end I have gone with a solicitor recommended by a work colleague who recently purchased a flat. He is not the cheapest but cheaper than Haarts.
Also, I did not feel entirely comfortable using an 'in-house' solicitor. Maybe I'm being a bit paranoid but, suppose there was something which could affect the sale going through or would perhaps affect my offer price - could I trust the 'in-house' solicitor to flag it up??0 -
I wouldn't touch Haart with a bargepole either. Expensive and difficult to work with.
Go local. As local as you possibly can. I.e. if you can pop around to their office easily during your lunchbreak then that's ideal. Just makes things quicker rather than sending stuff back and forth through the post all the time.
As your friends/family who they have used. Most conveyancers change around the same price anyway so get three quotes from three locals and pick the one you like best. You had me at your proper use of "you're".0 -

Not necessarily true, I am using an online conveyancer and have uploaded everything they have needed from my office via their web portal. There hasn't been a single time when I would have had the advantage of using a local estate agent. I have also saved a lot of money in the process.0 -
I also don't get the 'local solicitor so you can pop in' lark either.
Not once have I ever had to physically be at the solicitors office, everything urgent can be done either instantly over email or via recorded post for all routine things.0 -

The point is Haart are very expensive and don't have nice sales tactics.
I don't use local solicitors as I'm in London and those not based in London provide the same service at a cheaper rate.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Thanks for all your replies.
I had thought of using an online conveyancer but do not know anyone who has used one before.
Adamzetec would you mind me asking you who you are using?0
