accomodation near cardiff airport

Hiya

I have to rely on public transport, and will have to be at Cardiff airport by 7am on a sunday morning.

Dos anybody know if there is a B&B or hotel nearby, that either drops off or is walkable.

Closest is the Days in https://www.daysinn.com which is about 1 to 2 miles from the terminal. Standard cost for a night is about £55 I think.

There is an off-airport car park behind the hotel which runs a shuttle to the terminal but I am not sure if the business is connected I think it is an Airparks. You should be ok though as when we used the car park they didn't check if we were parking there. It's a fair walk to the terminal as it is off airport.

Remember Days Inn have a scheme that if you can find the same room cheaper on another web site they will give you the night for free. This does work as we found at another Days Inn. Proceedure is book your room on-line at Days find another cheaper source within 24hours and make an on-line claim and they either say yes or no, it has to be an exact match of room. We found an alternative at https://www.activehotels.co.uk prior to booking and made an immediate claim.

If you prefer B&B I would look in Barry/Barry Island which is the nearest town to the Airport (4-5miles). Or there are some chain hotels in Cardiff and a direct Bus link from Cardiff Bus Station. Nearest cheaper range hotels to the Bus would be Travelodge, Ibis, Big Sleep or Holiday Inn in that order.

st athan is the nearest town/village, they may have B&B's there

The nearest hotel is the Holiday Inn express at Cardiff airport, not sure of the prices though. The days inn is near by, the Cardiff bus ( X91 ) stops just out side the hotel, taxi would be a short journey. The neares town is actually Rhoose but i'm not sure of any B+B or hotels there, there are not any in St Athan but you would find some in Llantwit major. All of which are served by the X91, make sure you get on the right bus though as sometimes the X91 coming back from cardiff does not change its route details at the front of the bus.
