Not sure if this will count as late payment on my credit file

I am just waiting for my credit file to be updated with an alias - my maiden name after getting married last year. A the moment only accounts in my married name appear.
We are about to apply for a mortgage and as far as I am aware have a completely blemish free record apart from one potential issue. Wonder if anyone can advise?
A couple of years ago I had one late payment on a virgin credit card after I did a balance transfer. It was late because I assumed a direct debit I had previously set up was still active. It wasn't but when I complained when I got the statement, I immediately paid it, they refunded the late payment charge and reinstated the 0% rate they had removed because I had defaulted, as they said it was fair for me to assume the direct debit was still active.
My query is if this is likely to show as a default on my report? The credit card has since been cleared and closed.
Can anyone advise?

I have just got my instant report from Equifax and all is well. This one included all the transactions in my maiden name too, and the credit card in question appears as all green - no late payments even, so a big relief, even though you say it would not have much of an impact anyway! Many thanks.
Experian only had details in my married name, but I've requested them to add the alias so I'm assuming that will report back they same - MBNA wouldn't submit differing data to both credict check companies?0 -
You've dodged a real bullet there - others will wish they were as lucky.
Maybe when you complained (despite there not being a valid "complaint") their automated systems reverse the credit file changes along with the fee. Santander didn't collect a live direct debit which I reported on two occasions only to be told all was fine and they advised me, when it did not collect a third time and payment was 'missed', that when they refunded my charge the system also ensures it is not reported to CRAs. Very different situation to yours though.0 -

How late were you in making the payment? If the payment was due on the 1st, and you paid it before the next due date, then it wouldn't be marked as a late payment - it has to be 30 days / 1 month 'past due' before it is a late payment and recorded as such on your credit file.0 -

Is this correct? The OP mentions finding out when they received a statement and I thought this is what qualifies as missed?
My only late payment entry was recorded on my report for a payment I forgot to make until 5 days after.0
