Praise for John Lewis and Silver Cross

I recently bought an ex display Silver Cross pram from the John Lewis store in Cheadle, Cheshire. Every time I have visited the nursery department there, the staff have been excellent in their level knowledge and helpfulness. They made great recommendations and gave me a run down of the pros and cons of everything I was looking at.

I was provided with a card to extend the warranty with Silver Cross from 1 year to 2 years. This needed to be registered online within 28 days. Just over 3 weeks after purchasing the pram, I went to register the warranty on the Silver Cross website only to find that the warranty card I had been given did not match the pram I had bought, and was in fact for a much cheaper stroller.

I called John Lewis who put me through to the nursery department at Cheadle, and explained my predicament. I spoke to a lady called Vicky who was incredibly helpful. She said that she would check whether they had the correct warranty card, and if not, would call Silver Cross herself to see what could be done. I was offered a call back which I gratefully accepted. Unfortunately I had to go out shortly afterwards, but the Vicky did indeed call me back on the number I had given her (which was my land line) and left a very detailed message explaining that she had spoken to Silver Cross who would happily extend the warranty for me if I could possibly give them a call. She provided me with the phone number to call, and said if I wasn't happy to do this, or had any problems, I could ring her back and she would make other arrangements.

I called Silver Cross, and got through before I even heard a ringing tone! I spoke to Rachel who happily extended the warranty with no problems at all.

I was so pleased with the service from both John Lewis and Silver Cross that I just had to write this post to let you all know. I can think of a great many other companies where this may not have ended so well and in other cases I could have been accused of lying, told it was not their problem and shifted from pillar to post etc.

Buying such an important product for my baby from John Lewis was definitely the right choice! :T
Expecting our first baby in July 2013 :)
