I wouldn't bother to re-install it
simply download "Mozilla" for free
works so much better than IE and you don't get anywhere near as many nasties like spyware or viruses...

I would also recommend Firefox, but if you want to repair/reinstall IE then...........(I'm presuming you have XP)
1. Use the System File Checker tool to scan all of the protected files on your computer:
a. Click Start, and then click Run.
b. In the Open box, type sfc /scannow, and then click OK.
Note that you may be prompted for the Windows XP or Windows XP Service Pack 1 installation media.
2. Test to determine if the issue is resolved. If the issue is resolved, skip the remaining steps. If the issue is not resolved, continue to the next step.
3. Complete an in-place upgrade of Windows XP, a repair of Windows XP, or reinstall Windows XP.

Firefox is an alternative to IE. Looks the same (not as much !!!!!!) works faster than IE, doesnt pick up half as much spyware than IE.
Its free and has great support. Also lots of funky cool plug-ins avail.
Once you've used it you'll never look back.0 -
i've just this second started using firefox and i must say its a winner, my IE has been messing up for ages, and in msn explorer some stuff just doesnt load, but this seems fast and reliable, hope havent spoke too soon!0

Couldn't tell you how many times it overwrites data, but isn't 35 times an overkill just for your internet files?
What do you get up to???lolHow many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

If your reinstallation failed you would be in big trouble. Far better to continue to give Firefox a try. It does nothing to hamper your original IE setup and you can transfer IE settings to Firefox. You can still use your existing email program. This program has been tested by millions of users and it works !
The two browsers can work simultaneously.
