    thanks for the info!
I've had a letter saying I've been "Pre-Approved", is this the case do you think, or just a way to get me to fill out the app form?

Pre approved can mean absolutely anything but I guarantee they won't issue you with a card until they have done a credit search on you.

    Pre Approved**

**you are pre approved if you meet our credit criteria

This will be be the same as most people get through the door from one company or another , its a good whay for these companies to get you (the customer) to apply for there cards !!

If you are in the market for a card and they are offering you a good deal etc then apply if not look about at other companies

I use to have a Citi CC years back, it came with a 39.9% APR. Soon got rid of it!

    they now own Egg:-

"egg Banking plc, which is wholly owned by Citigroup Inc., "

i thought at some point they might merge the two areas together.

    I agree!
But the small print says "if you apply before July 31 we have the right to issue with -This, or another of our products-!!

It also says if you apply after July 31 "we have the right to refuse your application" ?????

Never seen it worded this way before....

Citi gave me a credit card in 2004 with a 29.9% interest rate with £250 limit- in the end I beleive I paid about £900 just to clear the card and get rid of it- it completely takes advantage of someone who is financially vunerable- please don't go with them- if you are being refused by other cards then maybe take as a sign you should not have one until you are more financially stable :-)

    Sound advice!
Unless they offer me the 0% card mentioned in their literature I will steer well clear.:D
