Just making the point and felt like a vent, my EA warning clients when they say they are using them. Hoped to get someone from Action Conveyancing to jump in and maybe exchange! Defend the Company honour possibly!
  • I am currently in a chain of 9. We have been ready to exchange for 4 weeks. The only person who has not been ready is two up from us and surprise surprise using no Action Conveyancing. This has held up the entire chain from the beginning. I work in a well established law firm in Farnborough and would recommend people to stop using these online"conveyancers". They are NOT Solicitors. They seem cheap when giving initial quotes but when you get a breakdown of all disbursements they are not cheaper. We charge a fixed rate (no exchange no fee), and do not charge for completing your SDLT return or acting for your mortgage lender. The only disbs that may vary are searches etc as they are third party costs we cannot predict.

Unfortunately I think our entire chain is about to fall apart due to Action Conveyancing never responding to emails, phone calls or faxes. We sold our property at the very beginning of April, and are still awaiting exchange at the end of July. Very frustrated so say the least!
  • Really glad we're not the only ones experiencing terrible service with Action Conveyancing. There is only us (buying) in the chain and the sellers but yet is has been a painful experience solely down to the amount of chasing we have had to do to get anything to happen with 'Action'.

We are now onto our 3rd conveyancer in that many months, and each time it has been the same - call, email, call, email, no response. The only quick response I received from them was when they wanted to tell me about their dodgy tax evasion scheme, where I could save money on my stamp duty (with them pocketing the rest).

I have found the only way to get anything done is to complain and threaten them with the Legal Ombudsman. That suddenly got things moving! We are due to complete in just under 2 weeks, I have little faith in them as the current conveyancer clearly knows very little about my case (when she finally called she called me the wrong name!) so it's going to be a nail biting couple of weeks.

I bitterly regret using this company, they may be cheap but it's clear they pile high and sell it cheap. Avoid avoid avoid.
