Where to go and what to do - Ireland?

Hi all
In true MSE style, in February I won a Stena ticket for 3 days car and up to 5 passengers return. We are using this next week although we are not using it to its full and only have 2 passengers (me and OH). We are also taking Arnie & Casey, the bull terriers with us.
We are going camping for three nights and were looking for info on where to head in Ireland? We intend on travelling into the South for the first two nights and then back to Northern Ireland for the third night.
Any information and tips would be great thanks as we have all the stuff, just need somewhere to take it all!

We camped around Ireland last year (although I broke my arm so it became hostelling around Ireland as I couldn't get in or out the tent easily) We started near limerick - went down to cork.. went around to beara, dingle, then up towards the burren.. then up to connemara..
We loved cork. It's gorgeous around there.. Kerry is too touristy although Beara was quite nice.
Loved Kenmare.. then Connemara was gorgeous.
We stayed near Letterfrack which was nice. 0 -

I just wanted to have a link to this thread on here

and for everyone who got the 1p ryanair flights to Dublin, as this website looks really good, with quite a few two for one deals. Until I found this I'd been contemplating buying the very expensive Dublin Pass
hope this helps0 -
Galway, Connemara, Mayo, cliffs of Moher, Antrim, beautiful.0

I agree with Party Animal. Drive over to Galway then up the coast taking in Connemara (Fairy Country) on the way. Between Galway & Sligo are original Victorian seaweed baths - great experience, sorry, can't remember exact location). Round Sligo is beautiful - the scenery that inspired Yeats. And along the north coast, Donegal & Derry are great.
I'd skip Dublin as you could be anywhere in the UK (same shops) and the Temple Bar area is too touristy. There are great places in Dublin, but I far prefer the west coast.
Hope the weather stays fine for you!Debt 17 12 06 - £7700. 1st Feb 07 £6903, getting there

Thanks folks, will keep them in mind for when we travel and try and sort something out. Trip getting postponed for the mo - will have to speak nicely and see if they will transfer my travel to another date as something has cropped up.
Don't mind if you keep the ideas coming tho!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

Hi all! My trip is now going ahead next week. We are looking at spending a couple of nights in Donegal and then heading back over into Northern Ireland, possibly to the Portrush area.
Does anyone have any experience of camping in these areas and can recommend campsites? Bearing in mind we have to take the 2 bull terriers with us for their annual holidays!
