Some share registrars offer special deals for certain shares - worth checking out first.
Failing that, Hoodless Brennan - selling will cost you £7 online but you will need to send the certificate in to them first. The shareholding has to be held on a nominee account before it can be sold so cheaply.PLEASE DO NOT STEAL

Hoodless Brennan offer the 1st month of trades commission free - which will be the cheapest method.
Alternatively, for share amounts under £250 you can also sell online for £5 via Halifax Share Dealing service.

Sell them to friend - which will cost you nothing and your friend will only have to pay 0.5% Stamp Duty (I think subject to a minimum).
All you need is a transfer form (downloadable) which must be sent to the Stamp Office to be taxed and then sent to the company's registrar with the share certificate.

It's not the cheapest broker, but if you open a Selftrade account through a "friend" ( look on the referrers board ) you'll get a £50 bonus, and some referrers will give you a portion of their bonus as well.0
