R40 refund delay

I am dealing with an R40 refund (tax on savings and investments) for someone.

HMRC wrote stating they are awaiting pay and tax details from a Prudential annuity.

A P60 has been sent, but not to HMRC as Prudential now use Real Time Information (RTI) every time a payment is made.

Has anyone else experienced delays as a result of this?

A P60 has been sent, but not to HMRC

Why should it have been sent to HMRC? Surely the recipient of the payments receives it?

According to another thread, the HMRC copy is actually referred to as a P14.

I'm in a similar position with my father-in-law's claim. R40 x 4 sent with covering letter. HMRC acknowledged and say they need to contact Scottish Widows. HMRC have now sent 2 notices of coding to f-i-l (he has 2 annuities). He's still awaiting a refund.
