Good afternoon all and just a quick update to help me keep motivated. The start of a new month and so far i`ve popped the £1 needed for the £1+ a day mortgage challenge into the mortgage pot and i`ve had a NSD for the grocery challenge, so a good day so far, where spends are concerned.
I`ve got the MOT and service for the poor old girl at the end of the week, which i`m not looking forward to, but hoping i`ve got most of it covered, as i`m putting little bits of money away each month to help cover this. IF and it`s a BIG if, I do have anything left over, this can go into the mortgage/ISA pot for me to sort out at the end of the month.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41
week 2 £90.00/£118.38:eek: week 3 £90/£60.54:jweek4 £90/£79.90 week5 £45/£00
End of mortgage april 2030

Good morning everyone:wave: and just a daily update, to keep me motivated. My £1+ aday has gone into the pot and one of the kids took packed lunch yesterday and today, so that`s another £4 into the mortgage/ISA pot for the end of the month.
It`s going to be another NSD on the grocery front, as dinner and packed lunches are sorted for tomorrow. I`ve sold a few things on e@ay and will have to sort through what i`ve actually made after fees and p&p, not alot, but every little penny helps. I`ll pop back later and update on the e@bay front.
**Quick update with e@bay sales, I made £23.11, so i`ll round this up to £25.00 and add to my mortgage/ISA pot, when the money`s cleared.**Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

Good afternoon to you all:wave: and what a lovely day. I`ve been potting about in the garden this afternoon, waiting for the car to come back from its MOT and service. It wasn`t as bad as I thought it would be. I`ve been putting little bits away for the last few months, so I only had to find the last £50 to pay this off. I think i`ll have to up my monthly pot for the car, so hoping I won`t need to find any extra money next year.
I`ve popped the £25 from the e@ay sale into the mortgage/ISA pot and have managed so far to put away £1 each day into the £1+ a day pot for the mortgage. A couple of neighbours brought some of my plants for the grand total of £2.50, not alot but it`s all going towards my ISA/mortgage pot.
I`ve had a quick look and have calculated that if I OP £400 a month, then we could be MF in 6 years. I know at the moment that is not going to happen, but it`s something to work towards and you never know do you.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41
week 2 £90.00/£118.38:eek: week 3 £90/£60.54:jweek4 £90/£79.90 week5 £45/£00

Lovely weather again, went to a bootfair today, allowed myself £10 for spends and spent £9.50. Mum gave me her old bread maker as she does`nt make bread anymore just for herself and a neighbour gave me £1 for some tom plants. I also checked the thunderball tickets and won £10 from that.
So the 50p left over from the bootfair & £1 will go into the mortgage and ISA pot for the end of the month and the £10 will go straight into the ISA.
So not too bad today.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

Hi savvy mummy, just spotted you're diary
I am in a similar situation as you but with 3 slightly older kids. Just wanted to wish you good luck on your mf journey.

Thanks newgirly for the good luck, I think I need it.
Not much to report on the MF front. Wages go in on monday so I will be tweeking that left, right and centre into the different pots and hopefully have a bit left over for the OP and ISA, so will update siggy on monday or tuesday.
I`ve completly forgotten to add to my £1+ a day pot for the last few days, so I will see if I can add the money owed to that, but I think I might have to combine this with the mortgae/ISA pot, just to make it a bit easier on myself.
We did a shop on sunday last week, at our local MrT and they now have these new shop and scan gadgets for you to do your own shopping, so of course we had to give it a go. I would say at the moment, its got my thumbs up, for the moment anyway. As you`re scanning you can see your total going up, so you can keep an eye on what you`re spending. Although I like to have a natter with the checkout girls, I still thought it was a pretty good idea, especially if you don`t want to hang about in the que.
It`s nearly the weekend already, where does the time go? We`ve no real plans for the weekend, a no spend weekend would be really good, but that rarely happens.
Anyway have a good weekend everyone, whatever your plans.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

Good morning everyone:wave: and what a fantastic weekend, weather wise it was. I think we are in need of a bit a rain though as my water butts are almost bone dry. I went a bit mad with the meat for the barbie on saturday, so we had another barbie yesterday and we`ve still got some bits left over, so might be yet another one today. My weekly grocery budget went a way over, (must remember to change siggy in a mo) so will have to try and be extra careful this week.
Unfortunatly i`ve not made any more headway this month with the mortgage and ISA, but we`ve a holiday coming up very soon. Everything`s accounted for, so if we do bring any pennies back this will go onto next months pot.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

A quick update really, I managed to jiggle my many different pots around and have manage to come up with an extra £100 towards the OP:j.
I`ll wait until we get back from the holiday and see what we have left and put some of this towards the ISA.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41
