damaged sofa....where do i stand????

I purchased a sofa about 10months ago and the springs have gone in it already.
I contacted the company (large well known national ) and they said they would take it away and get it repaired.............
I said i was not happy with that and that i wanted a new one or to cancel the credit agreement......
They said they could not do that and all i was entitled to was a repair!!!
The credit agreement is 3yrs 0% with the first year deffered so i have not paid a penny yet!
I also mentioned the consumer credit act 1974 as on the agreement regarding faulty goods and the lady said that only stood for the first 6 weeks!!!!!! ( does not say that anywhere on the form???)
Where do i stand????????
Please help..............................

I do believe that they are doing everything they have to by law. They are offering to stand by the product. I suspect the guarantee says that they will either repair or replace at their discretion.
I can understand that you may feel disheartened by the product and want rid of it but when it is repaired it will probably be of better build quality than it was when you bought it.
If the repair subsequently turns out to be unsatisfactory then you can go back to them again. At that point they may well agree to replace it.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0
