I hope you are not the buyer at the bottom of my chain. In my chain there is 1st time buyer buying house, this buyer buying next house and my buyer buying my house chain free. 4 of us in all , hold up is my buyer's Conveyancers, we are ready at the top of chain . Have been for weeks. Same abroad issue here my husband goes overseas at very short notice. We are packed and ready for the exchange as are my solicitors, Conveyancers ignoring everyone!

    It's not me.

Like you I have been in a position to exchange for weeks, I was even advised weeks ago by the EA that exchange was close so I transferred my deposit over to my solicitor.....5 weeks later and we are only nearing exchange now.

    Phew!

You have my sympathies, like you I was told exchange would be on 17th May, complete 24th May. Then exchange 24th May complete 31stMay. Like you still waiting.
As the weeks were going on we decided to try and find a property to buy which we have, bought on the basis I would exchange on my purchase the day after I complete on my sale.
Survey completed on potential purchase and searches started, I dread losing my purchase due to the delay in my sale.
Thinking positive thoughts or should I say had melt down last week now resigned to fact I have no control buyers Conveyancers have the upper hand . Shame on them for not getting on with their job.
