I called up my Bank this afternoon regard a query on the account. The lady I spoke to mentioned that I can tailor specific insurances depending on what I want .. such as Euro travel, car cover, mobile phone etc.. however all this is currenty inncluded(and not used) as part of the £16,50 per month charge on this account.. I was told a few years ago when they moved my account to this that it was compulsory etc.. so have blissfully paid this for the past 8 years or so.. and not bothered to register cards or phone etc..
However is there now any recourse to claim back these charges ... as I didnt ask for them or need them and was told that the account I had was ceased , hence moving to the additions account.. I was told today by the lady on the phone that I can pick and choose what I want, if i want any of the addon insurances.. and are not now given regardless if they are needed or not.

anybody questioned this previously

That said, it's hard to believe that someone can be that naive to believe that £16.50 p.m. account is the only available option and to keep paying this ridiculous amount for years while plenty of free accounts are available around.
