Double direct debits for the same card

Two months ago I changed the direct debit of my credit card (Aqua) from N&P to Santander. This has worked correctly and the last DD was taken from Santander as intended. However the Aqua card is still listed as active on my N&P account, and I don't want to cancel this in case it is viewed as cancelling my DD to the card, which stops the DD from Santander as well. Is this a problem? I want to know why the DD at N&P has not been cancelled if another DD from another bank has been set up (and is working) to replace it.

    Did you cancel the direct debit at N&P?

    If you didnt then it will just sit there until you do. N&P wont know you have changed it.
