Update on Court Hearing today

Well, as I predicted it has been adjourned yet again, this time for 7 more weeks. However, the CSA have received evidence from my ex's new mortgage company of the re-mortgage and have confirmed that a payment of 25k should be paid within the next 6 weeks.
If this is true, then the Court date will be cancelled and I will be 25k better off, which will help my DD who is off to Uni in September, although she won't be getting it all and not to waste either. Some will be put in a high interest account and saved until she gets her degree.
Anyway, I live in hope, but still won't believe it until that money has been paid into my account!!

No I am going to wait until they write and tell us just how much they think we owe. I want everything done in writing - a bit cynical I know but once bitten twice shy as they say!I can only please one person per day.Today is not your day.Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.0 -
Yes I have - I have an extremely non-compliant ex husband who decided when our daughter was 12, that he didn't want anything to do with her anymore 'because I will have to pay you maintenance' was his exact reply. He has done everything possible to avoid paying the CSA - before I went there I wrote to him to offer to negotiate a reasonable amount as I had no intention of getting every penny I could out of him - I asked him for 30 pounds per week, he failed to respond, despite a second attempt, so I felt I had no choice but to go to the CSA and ask them to assess. They assessed him at nil because he earned only 146 per week as a self -employed builder, which I proved via a Departures application and appeal tribunal, was total fabrication, and they changed his income to about 400 per week, and changed the assessment from nil to 76.73 per week which he never paid. BTW this was all AFTER he had tried to deny paternity even though he knows full well that she is his without a doubt and refused to supply the required info. Eventually, after much fighting to get the CSA to do something, it was referred to Enforcement who have spent the last 3 years doing not very much until the year before last when they finally got him in to Court for a Commital hearing, which was granted, but suspended provided he pay 50 per week towards the arrears. he did pay this for a year, but because he never paid his actual maintenance, he actually went even further into arrears and then LAST January, his wife phoned me to offer to pay me off. This however, never materialised and the CSA stalled and stalled getting this back to Court as he was in breach of the order as he ceased paying in January as well. After 14 MONTHS it finally went back to Court, but he refused to turn up and was subsequently arrested. The last hearing was adjourned for 4 weeks so that he could have more time to get a remortgage which is what the Court ordered him to do in March. He didn't do anything before the last hearing (27 April) so they went to his house and got a cheque for 216.66 which they then cocked up nearly losing it, before it finally got paid in. Now I have to wait another 7 weeks to see if this remortgage DOES actually happen. With all the false promises I have heard before, I am not holding my breath. There is much, much more to my story than I have posted here involving CSA delay and incompetence, as well as all the tactics he tried to avoid paying but I never gave up. My philosophy is that I never had anything so I couldn't lose by continuing to fight and everything to gain. My MP must be sick of hearing from me, as must the CSA, but that money is due for my daughter, and it is his moral and legal responsibilty to pay it, so I will fight for justice until I die if I have to!!!!0

Good for you kelloggs36. How can you have children then totally turn your back on them like that. I'm sure your daughter is a credit to you and you can stand proud in what you have done and will hopefully achieve. xxI can only please one person per day.Today is not your day.Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.0

I try to steer clear of moral stuff because I reckon that morals are for individuals. However, on this one-off occasion can I say that, to me, that man is a complete t*sser. I simply cannot understand how someone could do that.kelloggs36 wrote: »I have an extremely non-compliant ex husband who decided when our daughter was 12, that he didn't want anything to do with her anymore 'because I will have to pay you maintenance' was his exact reply.Information is not knowledge.
