Credit and Debit payments.

Okay, I have a standing order of £25 that is set to go into my account tomorrow. I currently have £0 in the account. However I also have a credit card payment of £13.50 required to go out tomorrow.

My question is obviously will this standing order be processed before the credit card payment? Or will they try to take the direct debit for my credit card before the standing order is processed, and then charge me?

I bank with Natwest. (student account)

Just cancel the SO and pay by FP today?
What's the point in taking the risk especially as the deadline for SO to arrive is the end of the next working day?

Direct debits tend to get processed anywhere between very early in the morning and midday.

If you can control the standing order then do as Grumbler says, cancel it and do the transfer today. If not and you have £15 in cash on you then go into a branch of your bank now and pay it into your account. Then tomorrow after everything has been cleared, go to a Natwest cash till (does £5 notes) and take the £15 back out.
