Metrobank Current Account - Would I be approved?

Hi there,
I am wanting to open a Metrobank Current Account to take advantage of their no charging on using the card abroad.
I am going to be travelling to France and Spain later this year and wanted to take advantage of this account.
But I have 3 other current accounts - One with Santander and 2 with Nationwide.
Will this count against me at all? I have 2 other credit cards but pay them off each month and have no bad marks on my credit record.
Thanks.

Should be fine,
if they refuse you then WOW lol• HSBC (Main A/C)
• Halifax Back up A/C
• Lloyds (Spending) A/C
• RBS Back up A/C
• Barclays Old A/C
• Nationwide Old A/C0 -
It depends on if you fit the type of customer profile there looking to do business with. If you don't then they can decline your application despite your perfect credit files.
The only way to know for sure would be to apply and find out!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
Fair enough thanks for you advice, will take a trip into a branch at the weekend.0

When I opened my current account with Metrobank I had 3 accounts with Halifax and 2 accounts with Barclays. The advisers (who seemed to resemble candidates on The Apprentice) said it didn't matter, I even got a free toastie maker.
However I applied for a credit card with them and they said no. I then tried elsewhere for a credit card at a lower rate and they said Metrobank didn't do a credit check0 -
decent customer service, quick set up, and free to use abroad? any bad point to metrobank/ reason not to get a current account with them?
i have a santander for bills / salary to go in, lloyds tsb for excess to spend and currently using nationwide for holiday fund but think metrobank may be better?0 -
Bog standard current account I believe, free but no interest on balance. I had an ISA with them, customer service is fast but they do employ quite young people, what they lack in experience they make up with enthusiasm and always wish you an amazing day

I'll be getting one for the free foreign transactions but shan't be keeping any cash there unless I am on hols.0 -
I think MetroBank are still looking for a lot of new customers so their criteria are probably a bit easier than other banks.0
