Bigger radiators advice appreciated

I recently moved into a ground floor flat which is quite cold as it doesn't get a great deal of sun. There is a condenser boiler and the usual steel panel convector radiators mostly hidden behind furniture.

I thought it would make it much warmer to have much larger radiators installed 1800 tall x 400 wide classic old school type radiators with 3 columns with floor mountings. That way they needn't be stuck behind furniture.

[That's if ever I can find a good plumber in my area who is not booked up for the next several weeks and then gets called away on an urgent job and then to another part of the country for more work and then...]

The boiler is a Halstead Ace condenser and the brochure says it has a central heating capacity of 100,000BTUs, so on the face of it, I don't have to worry about not having enough BTUs or anything like that?

I suppose the best thing to do is just buy the radiators and then get someone to fit them in?

The 1800 watts (6200 BTUs) looks good or if I pay about another £50 each I can get 2200 watts (7500 BTUs). It would seem to be worthwhile to pay the extra for the more wattage as it wouldn't cost me any more in gas to run? Or would it?

Any advice on any of the above would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hot air rises, hence why radiators are usually fitted low down.

Can't you just move the furniture away from the existing radiators?

Unless you hope to re-write the laws of physics, you won't get owt for nowt from your boiler ;)
