Let me just point out I am very happy with the bank itself, their service and products.
But over the past month or so I have noticed that when I use my debit card, transactions are taking up to a week to show on my account. This is for all transactions, has anyone else noticed the same?
They used to go instantly, or at the most by the next day?

I've found the same. I've been waiting for a credit from a freelance job to go through. The company paying me emailed me proof of payment last Mon and they also bank with NatWest.
Every day I was out so I got a ministatements from the cashpoint when I withdrew cash: Tues nothing, Wed nothing, Thurs nothing, Friday nothing, Sat am nothing, Sat night at 11pm and it showed up!The man without a signature.0 -
Ditto. Online banking seems to take an age to update with transactions. The balance is always right, but the individual transactions are very slow to appear. Frustrating as this is how I check my account. As I do this almost on a daily basis, it is really slowing down my bank reconciliations.0

I've noticed this with credit card accounts. The 'available credit' is updated immediately after a transaction but the transactions themselves and the balance can be out for days. This is for both purchases and payments.
I don't use my debit card for anything other than withdrawing cash and I find that in that case the transaction appears almost instantly. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Debit card transactions only show once the retailer has processed them, some retailers don't process transactions every day. It's up to them when they download the transaction information, not the banks. Your available balance will update when the transaction is authorised, transactions can debit at any time, sometimes months later.0

Natwest has recently changed the way these things show.
There has been quite a few people annoyed on these forums and on the ideas bank on their website about it.
For me it does depend on the transcation, a card payment I made in a pub on Monday, was shown on Tuesday, but my payment to my credit card which I made last Friday, still isn't showing today.
Online I just go by my available balance, rather than the balance which doesn't show I have made a payment to my credit card. However, my available balance has reflected the credit card payment as soon as it was made.0
