Giving a tip to Undertakers

Is it customary to tip undertakers? Having just attended a family funeral I was somewhat taken aback by the Head person from the funeral house hovering around the family member responsible for making the arrangements while we still tear-stained and admiring the floral tributes with a "Have I served you well?" attitude. What have other people done in these circumstances?

In wouldn't dream of tipping them they get paid enough as it is, along with solicitors who fleece you for writing one letter, that will be £100 please..... when you sorting out a will.0

My nephew used to work for an undertakers - he said it's not a usual practice but some people do, it's certainly not expected though.
I'd have given them a tip - !!!! off!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

I think it's nice to tip anyone that has done a good job IF you want to, however to hang around like a bad smell in these circumstances is very distasteful.0

Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

At the last funeral of a family member I attended the undertaker asked this question immediately afterwards and I believe he genuinely wanted to know, not because he was angling for a tip. He gave me the opportunity to let him know what a b0llocks he'd made of a couple of things..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

There have been more than a fair share of deaths in my family over the years & the different undertakers have all appeared to have expected a tip.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

After family deaths/funerals strange things start to happen.
