Hi, my partner was married ,then divorced in Switzerland around 12 years ago but has no idea which court it took place in and no longer has his decree absolute from this previous marriage. Does anyone please have any idea who to contact to get a replacement so we could marry here in the UK now.. Any help would be much appreciated

My husband lost his decree absolute years ago but it was no barrier to our getting married. He just told the vicar he was divorced and that was that - no need for any paperwork.
Is it different in other churches/civil ceremonies?
Not much help I know, but just explaining that my experiences were different and the lack of any 'proof' didn't seem to matter."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Thanks ever so much .. It wouldnt hurt to ask would it hehe.. Although we were just planning on a quiet hotel wedding so maybe they'll go for it.. Once again, thankyou for your reply :-)0
