You might just as well ask why they haven't rejected both of them.
Without any details of your complaint how can we know?

The TMPP is a multi-segment policy. It can have life assurance, critical illness, income protection and MPPI.

Halifax typically roll over very easily on the MPPI, even where there are no grounds to to do so. However, they do not roll over on the other non PPI elements.

What cover did your TMPP offer? (i.e. was it MPPI only or did it have the other things)

It is also possible that the Halifax didnt investigate the first one and auto paid out. The second one may have been investigated and found no reason for complaint. You havent given your reasons for complaint in your post or the reasons why Halifax have not upheld it. So, it is difficult for us to give you much indication.

Two different sales by two different people. Two different scenarios. One may be auto payout, the other investigated.

Think of it like this: its like buying two lots of eggs from tesco's on different days. batch one are rotten, but does that mean batch two are??

I would imagine, perhaps one is pre regulation and the other is post or the documentation is stronger on one sale.
