I think it's important to be aware that there may be different causes, and therefore different solutions, and you may even have different types at the same time! Exercises MAY help with some kinds, but I've been given different exercises at different times, so it's not a case of 'one size fits all'. Manipulating the head MAY help with others - if so the consultant may be able to do this on the spot.

BTW, my latest bout seemed to be triggered by swimming, which I do regularly, so I now NEVER swim without earplugs.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I feel for your daughter! I had a nasty bout of viral labyrinthitis about three years ago - I had double vision, constantly felt dizzy and nauseous and lost my sense of smell and taste (which I found quite random!). The only way I managed not to feel sick was to lie still with my eyes closed...sadly doing that doesn't help you recover so I had to force myself to get up and walk around a bit (in places that were safe because I felt really unsteady). Because one of my symptoms was double vision, I couldn't read, do any work on screen or drive so I couldn't work or do much of anything until that symptom abated.

Like others I was also prescribed some anti-nausea medication which at least helped a bit.

My symptoms started to improve after about two weeks and were gone after about 3 months.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
