Ppi abbey national.

I am new to this and you have probably been asked a million times so please be patient with me, can I claim back ppi from 1995? I have no account numbers or records but can remember paying an insurance on an endowment mortgage between 1995 and 2001. I phoned the abbey (Santander) about 6 months ago and was told that as this was longer than 6 years old all records of this mortgage will have been destroyed. A friend of mine has just reclaimed and was successful which has kind of inspired me to try again so where does this leave me now? And what do I do next? Any help is gratefully appreciated, thank Paul.

    The endowment policy perhaps?

Not only that, mortgage insurances are standalone and often the insurance documents dont exist with the mortgage documents. That is one of the reasons why most mortgage related PPI complaints fail.

If the lender doesnt have the documents then you can supply copies of what you have (assuming it was the lender you bought it through and not a broker). If neither have documents then you have nowhere to go.

On the plus side, most mortgage insurance complaints fail. So, at least you are not missing out on a sure thing.
