Hi
I'm staying in dersingham near Hunstanton for a week at the beginning of July.
I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old
Please could people recommend what there is to do in the local area? Hoping to go to the beach if weather allows but that may be optimistic!
Thanks

The beach is nice, old hunstanton is quieter but new hunny has its charms.
The pier entertainment has the usual arcade machines. Also upstairs is 10 pin bowling. Some of the machines give out tickets in exchange for prizes.
There are quite a few amusement arcades in hunstanton.
There is also a little funfair & crazy golf.
The town has some nice shops, but some can be expensive.
http://www.snettishampark.co.uk/ is nice
The woods at sandringham are nice for a walk
The lavender place at Heacham has a lot of bits and bobs to see there.
The Coasthopper bus runs a half hourly service between Hunstanton and Cromer all through the summer.

The Norfolk Coast path runs along the coast close to the bus route. It's even signposted from the bus stops.
there may be a suitable show on at the princess theatre? Or a film that you might want to see? King's lynn cinema is a gorgeous listed building & it is reasonably priced; orange weds, cheap Monday, cheap matinee etc.

King's Lynn is steeped in history and beautiful architecture.
St Nick's chapel is worth a look, but remember it is usually closed on Sundays! http://www.visitchurches.org.uk/Ourchurches/Completelistofchurches/St-Nicholas-Chapel-Kings-Lynn-Norfolk/
True's Yard is up that end too - a look into the maritine history of the area.
King's Lynn & Hunny both have some nice places to eat & drink. I'm not as familiar with hunny tbh tho. But in KL I can recommend:
Moleys (near to QD on Norfolk St, upstairs loos tho)
Bar Red (further down Norfolk Street - tho it can come across as a little 'seedy' but the food is nice & very reasonable - have the loaded chips)
Florences (lovely cafe, walk to bottom of tower street & turn right - beware it does get VERY busy & isn't brilliant for push chairs, also the loos are upstairs)
Archers (down the side of boots the chemist)
Denver Mill http://www.denvermills.co.uk/ Again lovely, reasonable priced food
If you feel like a longer trip out (& have a car, tho there will be buses but you might have to go into king's lynn first then out again) - Norwich & Cambridge are both an hourish away. Wisbech has a FANTASTIC cinema called The Luxe http://www.theluxecinema.com/front_page
The shopping in Wisbech is fairly awful tho!
spalding has an outlet centre & a nice garden area

oh & if you go into one of the shops mentioned on this link & fill out a form IN STORE (ignore the thing about on-line form, because I did 1 & still had to fill out a form in Claires) you get a discount in those stores if you use the card they then give you http://www.vancouverquarter.com/discount-card/
oh! hunstantion also has a sealife centre & leisure centre
Hope you have a lovely holidaywhen life gives you lemons, stick them in your top & pretend you have pointy boobs.

Farmer Freds if its raining near the lavender place, great for kids and reasonably priced. Bircham Windmill is good, go up the windmill and they have animals and watch the sheep being milked, tea rooms and can buy home made bread and cakes which are fantastic.
Burnham Market is a nice little place to visit very picturesque. Sheringham and Cromer worth a visit if you fancy venturing further out.
We stayed at Hunstanton last year for a week and it rained most of the time! but a nice area, Norfolk is very peaceful and quiet, away from big cities and hustle and bustle, we like it but not for every one.0 -
Forgot to mention visit Wells next the sea is a lovely little place, has a miniature railway and lots of nice little shops. I love it there!0
