credit report advice

hi, a couple of years ago i signed up to experain credit expert and cancelled it before the free month was up. i now want to check it again but a cost of around £15 per month seems a bit to much. however i have been looking at adding barclays credit manager for a cost of £5 per month to my currant a/c.
my question is does anyone know if the barclays credit manager does the same as the more commonly used experian as i can not understand why it is so much cheaper.
big thanks for any replies

HI THE BOSS, I SHOULD ONLY HAVE AROUND 4 MONTHS UNTIL I AM DEBT FREE :j AND THEN WANT TO TRY TO IMPROVE MY CREDIT SCORE AS LOOKING TO GET A MORTGAGE, SO WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO CHECK MY REPORT ON A REGULAR BASIS. BUT PAYING AROUND £15 PER MONTH FOR THIS SERVICE AFTER THE FREE MONTH SEEMS A WASTE IF I CAN GET BARCLAYS EQUIVALENT FOR £5, IF IT DOES THE SAME JOB. THANKS ANYWAY

Remember its whats on your credit report that's important not the wasteless score they flog.

  • Why waste £5 a month when you can get the report by post for £2????!!!

Your statutory credit report details your credit history. It contains public and private information recorded in your name and is available to authorised lenders carrying out a credit check through Experian. Credit reports are used by lenders to help them in making decisions about whether to give you credit or not.
Under the Data Protection Act 1998, Experian are permitted to charge a non-refundable fee of £2 each time you request access to your statutory credit report. Barclays Credit Manager uses CALLCREDIT, you can get a daily report. You would be better off signing up for https://www.noddle.co.uk and get a monthly FREE credit file from CALLCREDIT.

If you do want EXPERIAN based, try https://www.privacyguard.co.uk, 30 day free trial then £6.99 as month thereafter...daily reports plus the all important credit score. PMSL

And you can get your printed credit report posted to you for £2 as mentioned by kirbyinfurnesslad. It contains everything you need.

Or sign up for another free trial using a different e-mail address. When signing up, Experian asks if you've had a free trial before and one of the options is 'Don't know,' so they must know some people end up with multiple trials!
