PPI- Statutory Barred??

Hi All,

With help with info off here, I managed to find out who my finance was off.
But I need a little help please.

I bought a car through Car Craft in July 2004, with the Funding Corporation providing the finance.

I spoke to the Funding Corporation today (who have said they will send me a copy of my agreement) but have also said the PPI claim is nothing to do with them, as they only provided the finance, they did not sell it to me. So they are saying my claim is with Car Craft.

I called Car Craft, they said that up till January 2005 they were not regulated. So I am unable to make a claim for PPI. They said something about being Statutory Barred????

Does anybody know anything about this please.

I would be very greatful for any advice.

Thanx in advance.

JO

    This is correct.
You can only make a complaint about mis-selling to the seller of the insurance, not the provider.
If the date of the alleged mis-selling is earlier than January 2005 then the firm concerned won't have to even consider your complaint if they were not regulated.

In addition you can have no access to the Ombudsman for such a complaint.

You may be able to pursue the insurer in certain restricted circumstances, but otherwise your complaint is over.

They are correct that they have no liability as it is pre-regulation. Not that it is barred.

It is game over for you.
