I take it your not a member of a union?
No, I'm not. I don't recall the notice period, think its a week, however I don't have a copy of the contract. They didn't give me one.0 -

Statutory notice would be zero as you have worked there for less than one month.
If you don't have anything in writing it would be difficult to prove you were entitled to one week.
However, if you were a direct employee rather than on a temp or perm basis with the agency, it should be the employer which notifies you direct. Contact the employer direct and check with them.0 -
Would you get a contract with a 9 month position?....would'nt the contract be with the agency...When i did temping short term and long term all contracts were from the agency0

Oh right depends on the contract?MentalMinnie wrote: »My contract of employment was with the company though as theosition is a permanent one. Unless you were Freelance, I cannot see it being for such a short period. Are you SURE you were employed directly by the company and not the Agency?
You would expect the Agency would give the employer a grace period when employing a perm, but the time period just does not ring right.
Re-read the contract if you have one.0 -
Nope, the agency placed me, on a 9 month contract, but I was employed and paid by the company. I wasn't told I would. Be on a trial period either. I was also told the job would go perm at the end.
I've just had a massive panic, can I go back on jsa? I was signing on before this 'job'.0 -
You may want to see whether you have any rights with regard to Industrial Tribunal.0

Problem is trying to prove that they dismissed me because I told them my mum has cancer, aside from the fact that less than 5 hours after I told them, suddenly things weren't going to work out.0 -
When I'd been booked longterm via an agency I would get the dates in writing but I always received the disclaimer that although those dates had been specified it was a temporary long term contract which could be terminated by either party without noticeHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. According to the gov website I needed to have been employed for 2 years to have any claim unfair dismissal.0
