estate agent/private sale

Options
We signed a 4 week contract with our ea.
We have now been with him for 7 weeks but we haven't signed any contract extension.
A member of our extended family has expressed serious interest in our property, so they have no contact with our ea.
What would be the best way to proceed. We don't want to leave ourselves open to any comebacks from the ea.

Thanks.

Give notice to your EA in accordance with the T&Cs. In writing, using 1st class post and certificate of posting. Keep copies.

Do not do anything until the notice has expired. 1st class post is deemed delivered on the 2nd day after posting.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

I would also read your contract carefully to see what, if anything, it says about buyers that appear shortly after the contract is ended.

I agree with giraffe ^^^ I think most contracts have a period where you cannot sell for X amount of months without incurring a financial penalty. A 4 week contract is very short.

Agent would normally have to prove an introduction. Although I agree, read the contract carefully
