Paying for holiday online

I've heard even if you only pay £100 on a credit card for say a £3500 holiday then your fully protected - is this correct?

I'e got to pay for the holiday in total as booking late, on the website the fee is 2.5% so its going to be over £80 just for credit card charge - annoying!!

I cant see anyway though (online), of only paying for part (£100?) on a credit card and the rest on a debit card.

Can anyone confirm that this is correct firstly, and how I can get around the fee?
cheers

  • I don't know what website you are trying, but often there's a telephone number you can try?

Its thomson website just booking on there, then the price comes up, obviously its an online booking for flight, hotel, transfer, so have to pay online..I think?

Read that link, doesnt help in my original question as in how do I split online paying, but it also does state that it doesnt really matter in my case as I'll be protected by ATOl anyway as the hoitel, flight, and transfer is all bought from Thomson anyway, am I right in thinking this?

If so I amy as well pay on my Debit card and not get charged the £80?

Get the booking up online as if you are going to order the holiday online. Make sure it shows the holiday details and the price.

Print this out, go into your nearest Thomson shop.
Ask them if they will match the price. (They will).

Pay off some with Credit Card and the rest with Debit Card.
    Job done. :money:

could do I suppose if they match on store though - do they? It shows on the online form a "web discount" of £893 so I think the store will say its already discounted?

I have never had them refuse to match the online price. If they have an "in-store" offer on when you go in, they say that it is not as good as your online offer, so they cannot reduce your online price any more, but they WILL match it.
