i received a ticket back in latter 2012 received usual letters from Debt Recovery and then one recently (three / four weeks ago) from trethowans solicitors which i seen some one else on here was advised to ignore so did and advised dad to as his car, i have just come back from a week away and the vehicle is registered in my dads name and while being away he has caved in as claim form has come through for £175.00 my dad said he did not want to have the stress and did not want to disturb me on holiday.

my question is can i get money back from court and then send letter to court getting transferred to my name.

As a first step edit your post to remove the location and month (just put latter part of 2012). The darkside is watching.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • No you can't.

You would have to sue them to get it back.

I don't think that matters any more. The OP's father has received a claim form, admitted the claim, and paid the £175.

Done and dusted, case closed. Chances of getting money back on this one = big fat zero.

Baffling why people give in to these bullies, but what's done is done.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Its a case of people not knowing what's what and acting straight away to anything official looking.

That's why a lot of people fall to scams

Jeez this is so frustrating - please tell your Dad what he's done is like sending money to a phishing emailer by Western Union.

For God's sake , a speculative small claim from a PPC is NOT likely to actually end up with a court win! All you had to do was defend it and pepipoo could have helped you with that to see this off.

Let him foot the bill. I would. He has done you no favours at all but I guess if he's the registered keeper this was his own silly panicked decision. HIS LOSS.
