Patio - 3 quotes and huge range

Hi,
We have just got three quotes in for having a new patio laid in our back garden and there is a huge difference in price. The quotes are for £1820, £4200 and £6634 (ex. VAT). It is quite a large area, the middle quote was for 54 sq metres and the top one for 67 sq metres. However, as the quotes are so different we are stumped about which is a fair price. Any advice would be much appreciated.
The cheapest quote reckoned it would take 2 people 3 days to do and the dearest said 3 weeks!

Get more quotes! That seems a load of money for a patio, are you having real stone?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Are you having Italian marble slabs? They're having a larf -certainly the 3 weeks guy; he really doesn't want the job.
Definitely get more quotes0 -
Thanks for your replies. The highest quote was for natural sandstone slabs, whereas the other two quoted for artificial paving slabs (Peak Riven or Marshall's Saxon paving). I think you are right we should get more quotes, although it seems so hard to get people to come out to give quotes round here!0

Have a look at this website, the quality of the stone is excellent and i think very reasonable.
