Wembley Stadium drop off

Where is the best place to drop off hubby and 2 children to watch a match at Wembley tomorrow ? Gates open at 6.30, match at 8.00 and I'll be picking them up afterwards. Coming from Bedford and I'm happy to sit in the car whilst they are there. Any advice appreciated, thank you.

You can come up the road beside Wembley Park tube station which the Premier Inn hotel is on and stop off quickly there. It is just a short walk along the walkway from that point to the Stadium. The entrance is directly opposite the Premier Inn, with steps to station on left hand side, stadium to right(can't miss it as eaisly seen at end of walkway). There will be no parking there except expensive parking as the tube car park on that same road will probably be full.

You could also look at parking up at the large Stanmore tube station which is off jct 4 of the M1 as it is only a few stops on the jubillee line tube train to wembley Park from there, so saves on the huge traffic jams that will be in the area (plus most residential roads have barriers on them). Also IMO Wembley is not the best of areas to be in at night on your own in a car as it is crime hotspot area. Another option may be to park up at Rickmansworth tube station off jct 18 of M25 (20 min direct journey to Wembley Park on metropolitan line) as you can walk around the corner to the High Street where there is a Costa coffee open until 7pm and Wetherspoons pub open until midnight that does food and coffee that you can sit in with a drink or food whilst reading a book to kill time, plus the Car park is used for Waitrose shoppers too so you can kill time in there as it is open until 9pm, but car park is 24 hours. It is a safe area to be on your own at night IMO. £2.70 for 24 hours parking.

Just had another thought Ikea is not far from the Stadium (10 mins drive) and seems it is open until 10pm with the large restaurant open until 9.30pm, so it may be worth driving on to there and sitting in the Ikea restuarant for a time, after having a browse around the large store to kill time.

Thank you so much Susancs for all your advice, especially about Wembley area not being that safe on my own in a car at night. I'll go through the options you suggested with hubby tomorrow.0

You should be able to drop off almost right next to the entrance, on the corner of Rutherford Way and Engineers Way.
You might also be able to to wait with your car down Rutherford Way, if there's space, and it's fairly safe, as that is a usual spot for minibuses/chauffeurs to wait, plus there's a plenty of police around.
However, it's probably best to kill time at the Ikea/Tesco, then come back to Rutherford Wayafter half-time, when the traffic is generally fairly light.
Nevertheless the roads approaching the stadium usually start to close about 15 min before the match ends, so ideally you're looking to get back to Rutherford Way at the end of half-time.0
