I need to get my company network analised as it tends to run, sometimes normal, sometimes slow, especially in the afternoon.
My techie company cannot do it so how do i find a reliable and reasonable company to do it.
Based in Dunstable.

    Hi,

    I would start at looking at the traffic going into and out of the server as the first point of call via task manager and Performance.

    It could be just bad cableing, or electrical interference, or a nasty Anitivirus product.

    If you stay after hours, does the network traffic improve? does it improve during Lunch times? Sure it is not the server being hammered, or someone running a big query?

    This does not work on windows 8, but works on card below
    copy and past the lines below and save it as a .reg file
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\Connections\StatMon]
    "ShowLanErrors"=dword:00000001

    You could have a go yourself and analyse it with wireshark and possibly a few you tube vids

    If the problem is intermittent, then good luck.

    If your server people are competent, I'm sure they will know network people that can help you.
