6 years from when to clear file?

They may decide 25% is better than nothing. Then you can clear your report a little earlier.
The credit file will then have a record that partial settlement of the debt was agreed. Not an entry to have on ones file when applying for further credit in the future, in particular mortgages.0 -
Debts remain on your credit record for a fixed period after you have paid them off - so if you have not yet paid them off the six year period (or however long it might be - I think it varies for different types of debt)) hasn't even started yet.0
