Hoover washing machine

I wonder if anyone could help me. I have a Hoover washing machine which is 2 1/2 years old. While it was still in warranty the wash selector broke and wouldn't select certain washes. Hoover came and and re-set the PCB board and it worked again. Recently the same thing has happened again. I got a local repair company out who has said that the PCB board has broken. He said that he has seen many of these and Hoover admitted that thousands had gone out un-checked from a factory. he also said that the PCB board is a major component of the machine which they have a duty of care that a major component shouldn't break within 6 years. Is this true? He said that it should have been replaced when the initial fault was logged.

It's going to cost me over £100 to get fixed. what is the best way to approach this. Should I contact Hoover or go back to where I purchased it? Hoover don't have an email address only a phone number to contact them.
