Homebase Broken Bed

Hi,
I am currently having problems with Homebase and was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me. I bought a bed from them in 2011 and within 12 months, the middle support for the bed (the two legs in the middle to stop me sleeping on the floor) bent. I called Homebase who took the part number and sent a replacement to me quite fast. Now, this week, the same problem has happened again and the middle support legs have bent again. The bed was not moved or anything when it broke, it simply gave way. I have called Homebase again and they have told me I need to arrange for an independent person to come and look at the bed and prove it is a manufacturing fault with the bed before they will even consider assisting me! Is this right and can they do this or have i been lied to by a lazy advisor?

They are correct - you have not been lied to.
In fact they could have said the same thing the first time, but chose instead to abide by the warranty/guarantee they probably gave with the product. Such warranty is probably now expired, so they are abiding by the terms of the Sale of Goods Act.0 -
I feared that would be the caseNo One I Think Is In My Tree.:cool:0

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
