Sending Ebay item to Italy

Did I read on here recently that people were declining to send items to Italy due to the amount going missing?
I've been asked by a potential bidder how much it would be to post an item to Italy. The item's not an expensive one and I don't mind sending abroad normally.
Are people generally sending Ebay items to Italy now?
Cheers, Birdy

I have blocked Italy due to high loss rate - (and Russia due to slow deliveries!)0

I've sent a few items to Italy and never had an issue. Maybe I've been lucky, I don't know.0

I send parcels regularly to Italy. This is a personal matter, nothing to do with ebay. The Italian postal system seems to send items the very scenic way to their destination and it is pretty slow but I've never had anything get lost. I have also had ebay items sent to my Italian friend. Out of five items one we did give up on one as lost but it turned up a couple of months later.

I've sent 4 parcels to Italy in the last few months, (3 royal mail and 1 courier) and all have arrived in a timely manner without incident.
Didn't even realise there was an issue.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
I've posted to Italy and Russia without any problems.0

I've sent a lot to Italy and never had one go missing. It's added quite a lot of sales for me, perhaps because of all the other people not willing to ship there?0

I have Italy blocked, and the Italian lady I work with won't even post things to her family there due to problems.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
