I think its difficult when first thinking about the idea of setting up a business. There are a lot of costs that are often not considered. What you have to do is weigh up the costs, your time available and predicted sales (realistic)to see whether its worthwhile doing. It not be a crazy idea!

I suppose its not such a bad idea, its just getting the customer base up which is the problem, is there other local firms who are trusted, who would you take business from them.

In many respects could you start this up with little investment? I started mine with existing and borrowed equipment, then invested profits and now have a lot of equipment, but if it failed in the early days I wouldn't have lost anything.

I will say one cost might be worthwhile is getting a professional looking website up which shouldn't cost too much if IT literate.
