Yes, yes I have read this a countless number of times from many different sources but this simply does not apply to me. Whether I have 2 eggs or toast or cereal I feel just as hungry afterwards and for just as long.

Are you sure you're not mistaking hunger for thirst? They give off similar signals. Next time you feel hungry try having a glass of water before resorting to food.

It could also be emotional hunger you're experiencing. Are you the type that enjoys comfort food and turns to food in time of stress, or elation?

One simple thing to help you when choosing what to eat, is to eat what is grown not what is processed in factories etc. And make your own sauces dont buy jars.

Use extra lean mince (if you have mince that is) use it for home made burgers instead of buying packeted ones.
Chicken breasts are good to have as well. Avoid sausages as they could be full of anything and take the fat off bacon if you have it.

Keep up with what you are doing, eat like this and drink PLENTY of water. The fat comes out in your urine so drinking a lot of water will help you a lot.

I need some help and advice.

I am morbidly obese and need to lose weight.

I have over the last 3 years lost 5 stone and have stalled.

I cycle 3 miles a day and do Karate for 1 hr a week. I also walk/cycle during lunchtime (but this is work load dependent and I don't always get out)

I'm struggling to not feel constantly hungry and I am obsessing about my next meal.

I have been diagnosed with Oral Allergy Syndrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_allergy_syndrome) which means most fruits/nuts I cannot eat. I also have eczema which through a process of elimination I have found is exacerbated by dairy.

I've given up caffeine (have 1 cup of green tea a day) and drink 8-10 glasses of water/v weak squash a day.

Please help me feel full and reconnect with my weight loss mojo

Why not just accept that you will never feel full and learn to live with it?

I recently started My Fitness Planner online- it's not a diet, but a tool for logging all of your food/exercise every day. You can set it to gauge how many calories etc you need each day based on how much you want to lose per week. When you've been dieting for a long time, you sometimes lose track of the basics such as the calorie count of things, and assume or misremember food items as being better than they actually are.

I used to do Slimming World, and that is very good for when you want to be able to eat a lot of veg and carbs and not have to count calories. It does work but you still need to keep tabs on what you're eating even if it's free as it might not always be the healthiest. (e.g. Muller Light yogs).

If you can't lose weight despite eating properly and exercising, perhaps you could get your thyroid checked by your GP? Also, some medication can affect your weight, so you could discuss this with your GP if it applies.

Calories are absolutely meaningless until you learn how to eat healthily, and once you do they are utterly useless ;)

Excuse you. That is true. As well as 'sweating it off' and using it in bodily functions (blood) your fat does come out in your urine :-) If you don't work out that much, but eat properly then drinking a lot of water is best to flush the fat out in your urine.

I think you need to go back to biology class :D

If you've got lipids in your urine then you're in big trouble! ;)

I don't believe in any kind of restrictive diet. However, the 5:2 is good because it actually works and you can eat any food group. It helps to reduce the appetite and brings you back to what real hunger actually feels like. Once you do that then on non fast days you will only eat when you are hungry.

Diets do not work in general and they lead to bingeing because you crave the foods you deprive yourself of. You have to find a way of eating that is sustainable for life. If you stop dieting and eat what you want without guilt then you might binge for a while but then you will start to eat normally. You will find if you tell yourself you are allowed 20 packets of crisps then you won't want them. Its kind of hard to do that though without the guilt creeping in.

Try to stop eating for a while for as long as it takes to find out what true hunger feels like, and then start eating whatever you want until you feel satisfied, then stop. A proper hot meal every day is a good idea. Only forbid foods that you are intolerant to, nothing else. Eat only when truly hungry. Be kind to yourself, you are a normal person who doesn't need to diet but you have just got into a cycle of bingeing and dieting which leads to weight problems.

Hell no! I'm hardly ever thirsty as I drink liquids regularly.

Never. I can't understand how people resort comfort eating and it is something that I will probably(fingers crossed) not succumb to.
I simply could easily double the amount of food I eat every day but choose not to. Like I stated before, our ancestors would have been used to having half filled stomachs and I believe that is when we operate at our best both physically and mentally.
